Press preview
For the benefit of the assembled journalists, Deputy Head Sarah Watson places the final paving block for the main entrance of Huish Sixth as one of her last actions at the school, ably assisted by Head Teacher Graham Roff and Project Architect Julia Humphries. Also present are Colin Ayres and Simon Lawrence from R G Spiller Limited, Project Manager Mark Richmond, Quantity Surveyor Keith Snelling of Ridge and Jim Say, Clerk of Works, together with Governors and Roger Madge, Head of Sixth Form.
Site Manager Simon Lawrence and Architect Julia Humphries have formed the core of a very efficient team delivering the construction project, and were surprised and delighted to receive gifts acknowledging their efforts from the school. As the works near completion it is good to be able to take a step back for a moment and enjoy the shared sense of achievement between the design and construction team and the school. The building will be ready in time, and to a stringent budget.
